Hiking, Trails and Routes
ID #2289
Roof of Africa 4x4 Trail, Sani Pass, Himeville, Drakensberg, Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Lesotho’s tracks are more suitable for mountain ponies and goats than motor vehicles, but 4x4 enthusiasts love the challenge. The adventure lies mostly in the absence of maps and markers and in the extreme weather conditions. Brilliantly sunny days can suddenly change into thunderstorms, snow, ice and sleet or thick mist. Himeville is on the R617 west of Howick, which is on the N3 northwest of Durban, which is at the intersection of the N2 with the N3. Travel west from Howick on the R617 via Boston and Bulwer to Himeville. Then travel north from Himeville to Sani Pass. AHRoof
