Cape Namibia Route, West Coast, Namibia and South Africa.

A road trip under huge skies, purring along in an open car or a big bike? Eating crayfish, freshly caught and grilled on the beach? Walking through fields with a million brightly coloured flowers, filling your bird list with new twitches or staring at millions of stars that stretch from horizon to horizon? The new |Cape-Namibia route offers a plethora of activities found nowhere else on the planet. This is one route where you can find dinosaur fossils, dive in kelp forests, play in the snow, revel in the cacophony of thousands of seals and gannets, immerse yourself in the spectacle of the second-biggest canyon on earth, kayak in white and blue water, eyeball black-maned lions ands sip German beer to oompah music. Perhaps best of all it’s a year-round route, with new activities unfolding as the seasons turn. The variety can be overwhelming, which is why many visitors return again and again. The scope includes the following:

Cape Town and Western Cape: Mamre and Darling, The Fossil Park and the West Coast National Park, The Cederberg and Groot Winterhoek Wilderness and the Koue Bokkeveld, wine routes, endless beaches and seafood delights, historic towns and villages, centuries old rock-art and flower power.

Northern Cape:  Upington, Augrabies Falls, Orange River Wine Cellars, the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, Richtersveld National Park, Springbok and the flowers of Namaqualand.

Namibia: Windhoek, Walvis Bay and Sandwich Harbour, Sossusvlei and Sesriem, Bukkaros Crater, The Giant’s Playground and Quiver Tree Forest, Desert Horses, Luderitz, Fish River Canyon and Ai Ais, Warmbad and the Orange (Gariep) River.
